People return to golf courses and tennis courts in England as restrictions eased

People are back playing golf and tennis in England after lockdown restrictions were eased there.

Outdoor public sports amenities such as pitches, tennis courts and golf courses where social distancing can be maintained are set to reopen in Ireland next week.

From today, similar places reopened across the sea with a number of people returning to their sporting pastimes for the first time since March.

World number ten golfer Tommy Fleetwood was among those back playing the sport today as he played a round at Sandiway Golf Club in Northwich.

We've put together a number of pictures from around England as people got back to playing some sport recreationally, which you can see at the top of this article.

Professional sport, including behind closed doors, in the country will not return until June 1 at the earliest.
