‘People prefer McDonald’s’: Man gets the ‘least ordered item’ at Arby’s. Then he takes a bite

One man recently accepted a peculiar fast food challenge: go to Arby’s and get the “least ordered item.” The sandwich has him rethinking everything he knows about Arby’s.

In late May, TikToker Anthony Villegas (@antstorm123) posted a video reply to a comment challenging him to try the least popular item at Arby’s. In the TikTok, Villegas films the entire experience.

He pulls into the drive-thru and asks the worker over the intercom which item people order least often. After a pause, the worker says it’s the chicken cordon bleu sandwich.

After he gets the sandwich, Villegas opens it and shows the camera the fried piece of chicken topped with ham, Swiss, and a layer of mayonnaise on a brioche bun.

Then he takes a bite.

He can’t believe how good it is.

“What is this sauce? This white sauce on here is insane, like in a good way,” he says.

“If this is the worst item, don’t sleep on Arby’s. I might start coming here, bro, they have the meats,” he adds, referring to the fast food chain’s longtime slogan.

Villegas ultimately rates the chicken cordon bleu an eight-and-a-half out of 10.

A limited edition sandwich

Arby’s is primarily known for its popular roast beef sandwich. People also fangirl over its curly fries and the famed “horsey” sauce, which is often described as a horseradish mayonnaise.

Fans were delighted when the eatery recently brought back the chicken cordon bleu after a lengthy hiatus.

“This is not a drill,” a TikToker said of the sandwich’s return.

According to Arby’s website, the sandwich has 650 calories and 30 grams of fat. To compare, the classic roast beef that is ubiquitous with the brand has 360 calories and 14 grams of fat.

So the chicken cordon bleu is comparatively a caloric splurge. But Villegas seems to believe that it’s worth it.

People react to his Arby’s review

During his time as host of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart made a running gag of dragging Arby’s.

It was such a thing that the brand made a farewell video that aired during one of the last episodes Stewart hosted of The Daily Show. Arby’s also generated some social media buzz by jokingly offering Stewart a job when he announced he was retiring.

Judging by comments on Villegas’ post, most people disagree with Stewart when it comes to Arby’s. People heaped praise on the company.

One person said it is “so slept on and underrated. It doesn’t deserve all the fake hate.”

Another opined that people who claim to hate Arby’s haven’t eaten there.

A third described the chicken cordon bleu as “the best thing on the menu.”

Yet another joked, “Convinced the people who hate on Arby’s are the same people who hate on Nickelback.”

Villegas may not have enough Arby’s experience to say which item is the best, but it sounds like he’s willing to do the research to find out.
