People of Linwood turn out to support family of tragic William

Teenager William McNally made one last trip around Linwood today as his heartbroken family laid him to rest.

The 13-year-old died on June 5 after getting into trouble in water at the River Gryffe, near Houston.

The people of the town turned out to support his family, mum Sharron, dad William Snr and his older brother and younger sister.

William's mum Sharron has thanked the community for their support (UGC)

They lined the streets outside Linwood High, where pupils and staff stood and applauded as the funeral cortege stopped briefly. The cars then made their way past Woodlands Primary, where William attended as a youngster.

He was then laid to rest at Broomward Cemetery in Elderslie.
