It's complied a list of the top 10 men and women's names matched with being shopaholics - showing who your best bets are to get a round in on a night out.

Many of us overspend online (Getty Images)

The survey revealed 88 per cent of us spend regularly online, with 34 per cent admitting they splash half their month wage buying consumer goods on the internet.

Almost two thirds (65 per cent) of those taking part said they had spent beyond their means when getting carried away online. Just under half said most of their disposable cash goes on food and drink.

Cas Paton, founder of OnBuy.com, said: "With thousands of people going through our site daily, we see a host of shopping habits and trends, whether that’s by name, age or location.

"Therefore, we thought it would be fascinating to see which names are synonymous with the top spenders onsite, and also the names of those who are more careful with their money, opting for deals and discounts over full-priced products.

"Who knew there’s such a common parallel with names and shopping habits, there seems to be a lot more to a name than we initially thought."
