Over the last year or so, the name Karen has been well and truly tarnished after it became a meme and a term used to describe people who were acting overly demanding or entitled in public.
Those who complained were branded 'Karens', but it turns out people with this name aren't actually the most likely to complain.
Psydro, world’s first social review platform, has analysed negative review data from the last 18 months to find out the names most associated with negative reviews in the UK - and where the biggest complainers live.
Through internal and external data research, the brand looked into where the highest concentration of people who were leaving one or two star reviews were from, and found that Nottinghamshire is home to the most complainers, followed by South Yorkshire, with residents of Dorset proving themselves to be the most ‘positive’ online.
Their results found also found the five male and female names most likely to write negative reviews, with Tracey and Colin taking the top spots.
Other females that left the most one or two star reviews included Sue/Suzanne, Vicky, Wendy and Caroline.
For males, after Colin the list included the names Greg, John/Jon, Ian and Martin.
Tony Ward, founder of Psydro, said: "We might be being a little bit tongue-in-cheek here but at Psydro, we’re committed to ensuring that the customer has access to the most transparent, honest and helpful reviews.
"So despite the negative connotations of being a complainer, a bit of a thank you does need to go out to every Tracey and Colin, for making other customers aware of potential issues with a product or service so they can spend wisely."
