A charity’s people are what makes it successful – the dedication and efforts of staff enable organisations to deliver essential services to those most in need. And, it is the job of charity leaders – trustees, chief executives, managers and directors – to ensure employees are rewarded and nurtured. But, with limited resources and an already busy workload, this can be difficult.

How can staff be nurtured, developed and managed in a way that makes them feel rewarded, gets the best out of them, and encourages them to stay at an organisation? Join the Guardian Voluntary Sector Network and a panel of experts on Friday 4 December 12–1.30pm GMT to discuss the following and more:

  • what resources are available to help managers
  • how to approach people management
  • how best to develop your own professional development strategy
  • whether away days and team-building activities are effective

If you would like to leave a question, please post it in the comments section below, or revisit this page on the day to ask it live.

To participate you need to register for a Guardian ID and log in prior to the discussion. To create an ID, click here.
