People in West Lothian got a taste of normality today when pubs, restaurants, cafes, gyms, beauty salons and shops opened again.
Restrictions were eased to allow thirsty customers to enjoy a pint in a beer garden and shoppers to snap-up bargains at non-essential shops.
Driving lessons were also allowed to resume and museums like the West Lothian Military and Bennie Museums were delighted to welcome visitors into the attractions again.
By this morning queues were already forming outside TK Maxx in Livingston and Tanz tanning salon in Bathgate.
And The Centre, Livingston also reported a roaring trade.
Mandy Simpson from Bathgate, who was visiting the mall to do a bit of shopping with her partner said: “Loving being back at The Centre, Livingston today – it was particularly nice to be welcomed and presented with flowers, gift card and a goody bag which was a lovely surprise.”
Fitness fanatics were also able to get back to the gym and West Lothian Leisure's Xcite venues at Bathgate and Livingston opened just after midnight for anyone desperate for a workout.
And libraries, face-to-face council information services (CIS) were also able to resume services from today, while community services in West Lothian Council’s partnership centres, community education centres and village halls could also start running.
