People aged 38 to 39 in England will be able to book Covid-19 vaccinations from Thursday morning (May 12).
NHS sources have told the PA news agency that the vaccine roll out will continue to younger age groups, with the aim of giving all adults at least once dose by the end of July.
People under 40 are being offered an alternative to the Oxford/AstraZeneca jab, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.
This is due to the link between the AstraZeneca jab and extremely rare blood clots, including some affecting the brain.
As of Tuesday, 35.6 million first doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been given in the UK, with a further 18 million second doses.
More details on booking vaccinations are expected later today.
It comes as Boris Johnson confirmed an independent public inquiry will take place into the handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
The full inquiry, with statutory powers, will begin early next year.
The Prime Minister announced the move in the House of Commons on Wednesday afternoon.
He said: "Amid such tragedy the state has an obligation to examine its actions as rigorously and as candidly as possible, and to learn every lesson for the future – which is why I’ve always said when the time is right there should be a full and independent inquiry.
"So, I can confirm today that the Government will establish an independent public inquiry on a statutory basis, with full powers under the Inquiries Act 2005 – including the ability to compel the production of all relevant materials and take oral evidence in public under oath.
