On 4 November, residents of California will get to vote on a new congressional map drawn up by the state’s legislature.

The ballot measure, Proposition 50, temporarily gives power to the legislature to redraw congressional borders, returning it to an independent redistricting commission in 2031.

The redistricting effort could create up to five new Democratic US House seats.

The proposal is a direct response to Texas passing a measure which will create five new congressional seats favoring Republicans.

We’d like to hear from California residents on how they view Proposition 50. What do you think of the proposal? We’re also interested in hearing if the campaigns for and against the proposal have been trying to reach you.
