People have just discovered there’s a ‘Delta Plus’ variant and they want off planet Earth

The coronavirus pandemic is fast mirroring the Fast and Furious franchise. There are just far too many versions.

After coping with the original coronavirus, the world had to then grapple with a variant rearing its ugly head in Kent, England last year which fast cancelled Christmas in England due to its prevalence.

If that wasn’t hellish enough, a variant first identified in India (Delta) started to spread its way around the world early this year and the World Health Organisation (WHO) decided to make a handy list of variants to track them all.

This leads us to sadly announce that there is now a new variant called Delta plus has just been identified and two cases of it have been reported in South Korea. It is said to latch onto lung cells more easily, be more resistant to therapies, and is supposed to be overall more transmissible than previous COVID-19 variants.

We know how this works now - even if Boris Johnson doesn’t - and that a virus will stay within mandated political borders and not enter other countries is just impossible. In fact, other countries to log cases of Delta plus include the U.S., the United Kingdom, and India.

So, as the world prepares to battle Coronavirus 10, NOW that’s what I call Covid, people took to the internet as one to express their complete and utter exasperation:

When will it end?!
