'People hate that I dress inappropriate at 60 - but I love mini skirts and sheer tops'

While many people may agree that fashion is subjective, a 60-year-old woman is embracing her love for current trends - from miniskirts, sheer tops, and even cargo trousers. While she's been told that she dresses 'inappropriately', Roslyn Griner assures that 'you can be sexy' since fashion is all 'about your style and not your age'.

The marketer initially developed her love for fashion thanks to her late mother - a seamstress who would design her stylish clothes to wear. Roslyn, from Montreal, Canada, aims to 'keep young' by hitting the gym up to six times a week.

She's now inspiring other women over 50 to 'wear whatever they want' and feel no shame. Roslyn said: "People say I am dressing inappropriately but it's about your style not your age number."

She went on: "We become this invisible minority when we hit a certain age and are known as mothers and grandmothers.

"But you can be sexy and all these things. You don't lose the zest for life. I want to inspire women that you don't have to stop dressing a certain way just because you are 50 or 60."

Roslyn - who has never been married - started sharing her 'living an ageless lifestyle' after she lost her marketing job in August 2022.

She said: "I'm showcasing how I like to dress. I wear miniskirts - I like my legs so I'm going to show them off."

Vowing that it keeps her 'youthful', Roslyn has developed a love for modern music while maintaining the latest fashion trends.

She said: "I love current music, it helps keeps you youthful. I've always been a fashionista.

"I love cargo pants. And sheer tops - they are having a moment. I love a mini skirt and an oversized blazer."

However, Roslyn has regularly faced negative comments with people claiming that her outfits are not 'appropriate' for her age.

In defence, she said: "My style of dressing isn't for everyone. But I don't address the negative comments anymore.

"You can be conservative in yours 30s or trendy in your 50s. I'm showing young girls that it is not scary to age. It's cool to be my age."

Roslyn admits that her confidence only blossomed in recent years after admitting that she felt insecure about her looks in her 20s.

She explained: "I didn't come into myself until my late 30s. In my 20s I was super shy, and I didn't feel attractive."

"I feel I'm much more confident now. As you go down the path of life you care less about everyone's opinions," she added.

Roslyn loves 'living in the present' and stays young by looking after herself and maintaining a healthy diet - but has admitted to receiving Botox.

She said: "I'm transparent and I have had Botox. Exercise keeps me ageless.

"I never feel like my age. I'm not creaky, I'm dynamic. I'm living in the present."
