Trifle and cheesecake are two scrumptious desserts in their own right so a combination of the two was always going to be a match made in pudding heaven.
And the good news is, that if your tastebuds are tickled by the very idea of such a thing existing, it is in fact a reality in Gateshead.
The Trifle Cheesecake, which has been created by Riverview Bakery and Cafe in Blackhall Mill, right on the edge of Gateshead and Durham, has proved so popular that it's been a sell out success so far with people flocking from Newcastle, Sunderland and Hartlepool to try it!
Thanks in no small part to a Facebook post about it on Sunday which got a massive reaction from people who were whipped into a dessert frenzy by the sight of it.
Someone commented "Oh good lord, in my belly please!!!!!" and echoing those sentiments another fan reacted "OMG looks lush."
The £2.50 slices of cheesecake sold out on both Sunday and Monday and Riverview's owner Rachel Charlton said the response to it had been crazy.
"As soon as the photo went up on Sunday people went mad about it.
"People came in from all over to get some - it sold out pretty much straight away and it was the same on Monday too!
"Most people don't even know where Blackhall Mill is; we're in the middle of nowhere!
If you're on a diet, it's probably best to stay away from Riverview's Facebook page as they are so many tasty treats to tempt you, both sweet and savoury, including strawberry melbas, chocolate eclairs, Banoffee tart, mince & mushy pea pie and a very delicious looking Sunday dinner!
