People dressed as Boris Johnson and 'Wales rugby players' brawl in the street

A brawl between England and Wales fans ahead of their Six Nations clash at Twickenham was caught on video.

The footage shows a large group of Welsh supporters dressed as Wales rugby players involved in a scrap with another group - including one who opted to dress as Prime Minister Boris Johnson .

The incident happened on a street in the Brynmill area of Swansea just before England's 33-30 win over Wales on March 7.

At least 20 people were reportedly involved in the brawl, which saw items such as flour being thrown across the street, Wales Online reports.

Shaun Cook, who witnessed the confrontation, said: “Football fans get the bad reputation, but these rugby boys were like animals.

“Carnage it was. Rugby hooligans”.

The two groups clashed outside the former Cricketers pub, and continued round the corner.

Bins were upended and their contents left blowing around the street.

Uplands councillor Peter May, who lives nearby, happened to witness the confrontation also.

He said: “I was out taking a delivery when it all cracked off.

“It was a real confrontation, although it was very short-lived. I’d say it didn’t last more than a couple of minutes”.

South Wales Police have been contacted for a comment.
