While past Love Island seasons are usually followed by group holidays, shared couches and endless club appearances, this year’s islanders have gone in the opposite direction. Friendships have fractured, tensions have escalated and the post-show vibes are reportedly… bad.
“The cast is basically divided,” a source close to the show told PEDESTRIAN.TV. “People aren’t speaking. There’s talking behind each other’s backs. It’s easily the messiest post-show fallout Love Island Australia has had.”
And yes, producers have noticed.
Despite the season pulling strong ratings and huge social media engagement, insiders say unresolved tensions, particularly among the gals, have only intensified since filming wrapped.
At the centre of the drama is Lacey, who sources say is currently at odds with both Gabby and Yana, with the situation described as very much ongoing.
“There’s genuine beef there,” the insider told us. “And it’s not subtle.”
Gabby is also said to have thrown a few shots in Jotham’s direction, adding yet another layer to an already tangled web of post-villa dynamics.
Elsewhere, Tamara and Mateo are reportedly no longer on good terms either, with tension between the pair contributing to the broader cast divide.
“People have picked sides,” the source explains. “Some are trying to stay neutral, but it’s pretty much impossible.”
With the fractures becoming impossible to ignore, there’s now renewed chatter around a long-rumoured Love Island Australia reunion special. Something that’s been floated for years but never quite justified. Until now.
“There’s always been talk of a reunion,” the insider says. “But this is the first time it actually makes sense.”
Think: less polite catch-ups and more full-on reckoning. Rumours suggest a reunion format could see Sophie Monk fronting the special, pulling the islanders back together to unpack everything that didn’t make it to air and everything that’s blown up since.
Even with Yana and Kye crowned as this year’s winners, sources say a reunion episode could be far more explosive than the season itself.
“If you put this cast back in a room together, it would be chaos,” the source adds. “The stuff happening off-camera is way bigger than what viewers saw.”
