People are using a common 25p ASDA item to get dirty microwaves clean in seconds without scrubbing

People have discovered they can clean their microwaves in seconds with virtually no effort using a 25p ASDA product, and they wish they'd found out sooner. It's something you probably already have in your kitchen, but if you don't, you can buy it with pocket change.

The tip was shared on TikTok, where it has since gone viral. TikToker Sidney Raz is famous thanks to his videos where he shares things that he wishes he realised sooner, and recently he's turned his attention to kitchen appliances.

He said that he discovered a way to clean the microwave that is incredibly simple, and from his demonstration, it looks like it works really well. All he needed for the method was a bowl of water and a lemon, which he places the bowl in the microwave before turning it on - then after a while, all it needs is a quick wipe.

Taking to TikTok, where he uploads as @sidneyraz, he said: "Here's something I didn't know until I was in my 30s - how to clean the microwave. "Take some lemon water, microwave that for like a minute and a half and it should wipe out more smoothly."

He then goes over to his 'gross' microwave and says "yep, that works - that works", while wiping off all the dirt and grime. Soon his clip had over 500,000 likes and thousands of comments, and people couldn't believe how simple the trick was.

One said: "Thank God you're showing me when I'm still young." Then another added: "Now you have no excuse not to clean your microwave."

And a third wrote: "A lot of people don’t even know that they’re supposed to clean it out." Another follower had heard of the tip and added their own twist. They said: "It works even better when you microwave it for five to ten minutes and then leave it in there for 15 more minutes."
