People are travelling for miles to visit new dog bakery in Liverpool

A bakery for dogs has opened its first-ever long term store at Liverpool ONE and people are travelling from all over the country to get their beloved pooches a treat.

The Original Dog Bakery, which previously operated from a mobile tuk-tuk on Wall Street, offers your four legged friend a range of goodies, including cookies, brownies, doughnuts, popcorn and a six-inch birthday cake.

Co-founder, Daniel Carroll revealed that dogs have been going barking mad for their bacon flavoured red velvet brownies in particular.

The store specialises in handmade patisserie-style baked products, all of which are made entirely from natural ingredients with no extra salt or sugar to ensure your dogs health and wellbeing.

He explained: " Liverpool ONE has played a key role in driving and supporting the rapid growth of our business since we launched less than 12-months ago, so it makes sense to put down our roots at the destination."

The 39-year-old added: "We've received a warm welcome from Liverpool and the feedback has been fantastic.

"We get a lot of customers from around the North West as a result of being located in Liverpool ONE and we are overwhelmed with the lovely comments, praise and well wishes.

"With Liverpool being a tourist destination, we also get customers from all over the UK. Something we didn't even think of, but happy to say they have loved buying delicious treats for their pooches to take back home to cities in Ireland, Wales and Scotland."

Daniel, who at one point owned five Toy Poodles himself, also teased that the store were doing specials which reflected the seasons and to keep an eye out for spooky and festive spiced treats coming in October and December.

The bakery is open seven days a week from 10am till 8pm. Weekend trading hours are shorter with Saturday 10am-7pm and Sunday 11am-5pm.
