People are sharing their childhood dream jobs on Twitter and it's adorable

For most of us, the jobs we do as adults are far removed from the dreams of a five-year-old.

But that hasn't stopped Canadian blogger Eric Alper taking to Twitter to ask users what they’d be doing if their childhood career dreams had become a reality.

Last week, Alper tweeted: “Congratulations! The job you wanted to have when you were five is now yours. What do you now do for a living?"

Users were quick to respond with their cherished (and slightly bizarre) career fantasies.

One user wrote: “Hurray, I am a policeman clown!”

“I'm a Broadway star who moonlights as a palaeontologist during her off season,” added another.

One tweeted: “Good news everyone, I am now an astronaut who is also the president.”

From train drivers at the zoo and marine biologists to “whatever Jeff Goldblum is in Jurassic Park” and a “Jedi Knight”, the responses were as diverse as they were delightful.

The tweet comes days after a recruitment site identified the top 25 jobs in the UK and found that almost every one includes the word “manager” in the title.

Scooping first place is audit manager with a median base salary of £52,000 and an average job satisfaction rate of four-and-a-half out of five.
