People are mad because Emily in Paris got an Emmy nomination: ‘How does this keep happening?’

“Emily in Paris” is one of eight shows nominated for the Emmy’s Outstanding Comedy Series category — and people are not pleased.

They are also genuinely perplexed by the Television Academy’s decision.

The 73rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards announced its full list of nominations earlier today, and while fans are generally dissatisfied, they seem especially offended that Emily in Paris snagged a nom when many more impressive programs didn’t.

While the widely hate-watched Netflix series somehow made the cut, Beyoncé’s “Black is King,” “Girls5eva,” “Mythic Quest,” “Small Axe,” “Snowfall”, “Ted Danson,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” and “The Undoing” somehow did not — among many others.

And Twitter is really not having it.

Especially those whose favourite shows were blatantly overlooked by the Television Academy.

Some users went so far as to say the Emmys are “rigged.”

Others are simply…sad.

But some are really, really mad. And we don’t necessarily blame them.

Really, television connoisseurs simply don’t understand how the Academy opted for Emily in Paris over so many significantly more widely acclaimed shows.

Many pointed out that “Emily in Paris” isn’t particularly funny.

But at the end of the day, everyone’s mostly disappointed with the Emmy’s questionable nomination.

Le sigh.
