People are just discovering the right way to fold fitted sheets and it's 'genius'

Making the bed is a task that nobody particularly wants to do. There's so much faffing with the undersheet, and getting the duvet cover onto the duvet can feel like an impossible task if you're doing it alone. When you've got multiple fitted sheets and you need to store some under the bed, the temptation to scrunch them up and chuck them under is real. Thankfully, one man has shared how to fold them with no fuss.

Dustin Hadley, who posts on Instagram as @that40yearguy shared a hack he'd seen on social media, showing people how to correctly fold fitted sheets to keep them nice and fresh looking.

"You're telling me for 40 years I've been wadding up my fitted sheets and throwing them under the bed I could've been doing this?", he fumed. "Ain't no way. Right, let's try this out."

Dustin started by laying out the fitted sheet flat on his bed before grabbing the two bottom corners and tucking them inside the top ones.

Then, he folded a third of the way from the bottom toward the middle of the sheet. The far side was then folded into the middle, repeating the process on the other side.

He then folded everything into the middle to make the sheet thinner, folded it again twice, and laughed out loud at how easy it was, rather than 'wadding them up' as he'd previously done.

He then threw the sheet onto the floor and put his thumbs up to the camera.

In the comments, people were impressed with the fancy technique.

One wrote: "I'm sure your wife loves it when you try out these life hacks, helps around the house lol."

"It's common sense", another joked.

"I'm not doing all that", someone commented, while another Instagrammer wrote: "What does it matter how those are folded? I get clothes and s***, but that thing is so tight on the bed no wrinkles survive!"

How do you store your fitted sheets? Let us know in the comments.
