People aged 18-39 in Swansea Bay can just turn up and get the Covid vaccine today

People aged between 18 and 39 living in Swansea Bay are being offered drop-in coronavirus jabs today.

Unvaccinated people who live in the counties of Neath Port Talbot and Swansea can get their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine at the Margam Orangery Mass Vaccination Centre in Margam Country Park on Monday (June 14).

Those who attend will be given the Pfizer vaccine at the centre, which is open for drop-ins between 9am and 8.30pm. Swansea Bay University Health Board asks 18-39-year-olds to bring a photo ID or proof of age and address with them when they attend and has said there may be queues if demand is high.

People are also being asked to consider the weather and dress appropriately as there is "very little shelter or shade outside the building".

The health board was offering drop-in jabs at its other major vaccination facility, the Bay Field Hospital Mass Vaccination Centre, near Amazon off Fabian Way, at the weekend.

It comes as the Welsh Government has announced that every adult in Wales would be offered a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine by Monday, six weeks ahead of schedule.

The latest figures show that 2,213,050 people in Wales have had a first dose of the Covid vaccine, and 1,378,010 have had both doses.
