People across Ireland were surprised to learn that their hi-vis jackets could become the latest fashion trend.
Elite designer brand Balenciaga is now selling a reversible 'hi-vis' jacket for just under €3,000.
The jacket has caused quite a stir online as people can't understand buying such an expensive jacket when similar ones can be purchased for a fraction of the cost from any shop.
Named 'The Reversible Parka Jacket in Yellow', it is made from 100% polyester and features a technical ripstop and a black contrasting lining.
It is an oversize fit with a cocoon shape and has a concealed zip with closure snaps and two slash pockets.
The designer described the jacket as having sporty B artwork embroidered on the chest and says the jacket has a foldable hood with drawstrings.
However, the jacket that appears to be ideal for working may be the opposite as it is dry clean only and at €2,990 a pop, you might be best sticking to that.
Balenciaga says their designer prices are a reflection of their commitment to sustainability and ethical management.
Its website states: "Aware and convinced of the challenges linked to sustainability, Balenciaga has acted to reduce the environmental impact of its creativity and activity while pursuing progress within fundamentally important social issues.

People took to Twitter to share their views on the expensive jacket.
One person said: "The world has gone f***ing mad."
Another said: "That's just a G4S security hi-vis with a Balenciaga badge on it".
While a third joked: "Husband has a pile of new season @BALENGIAGA hi-vis in his work van – I'll do them £10 a piece."
