Pentagon could rename Iran war as conflict rumbles on

Pentagon Iran

The Pentagon is reportedly considering renaming the US military operation against Iran to "Operation Sledgehammer" should hostilities resume.
The current conflict, "Operation Epic Fury," which commenced on 28 February, has stalled due to unresolved peace deal negotiations.
A new operation name would restart the 60-day congressional approval period mandated by the War Powers Resolution of 1973.
President Trump is weighing options to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, currently restricted by Iran, and remains sceptical of diplomatic resolutions.
Despite an indefinite ceasefire, Trump has rejected an Iranian proposal as "TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE" and described the truce as being on "massive life support."
