A pensioner with dementia who vanished from her Glasgow home sparking a frantic police search to find her has been found safe and well.

Margaret McLean, who has mobility issues, left her home yesterday at around 3.20pm in Castlemilk.

Concerns grew for the 74-year-old who had not been seen since disappearing.

After launching an appeal this morning cops announced that she had been traced safe and well.

Officers from Police Scotland thanked the public for their assistance in finding the pensioner.

In a statement the force said: We can confirm that 74-year-old Margaret McLean, who was reported missing from the Castlemilk area of Glasgow, has been traced safe and well.

"The public are thanked for their assistance."
