A pensioner who repeatedly sexually abused two young children for almost 10 years faces a jail sentence when he returns to Perth Sheriff Court for sentence on August 18.
Seventy-four-year-old Alan Williams was remanded in custody for background reports after a jury convicted him of using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices towards the youngsters, both aged under 10 at the time of the first offences, at addresses in Perthshire and Angus.
The vile acts took place on various occasions between 1999 and 2008.
He had denied all three offences but was found guilty after trial.
Williams started abusing the boy at the Perthshire and Angus locations between 1999 and 2005.
The court heard that he pulled down the boy’s lower clothing and carried out a sexual act.
He then pushed him on the body, causing him to fall out of a bed, rubbed his hand on his body and rubbed his leg.
He also struck the youngster on the buttocks and pinned him down, all to his injury.
The first of the degrading acts against the girl took place on various occasions between 2004 and 2007.
Williams was convicted of pulling her onto his lap, hugging her, placing his hand down her lower clothing and sexually assaulting her.
A second sexual attack on the same female took place several times between June 15, 2007, and June 14, 2008.
On these occasions he touched her and forced her to kiss him and perform a sex act.
Williams, of Walker Court, Aberchirder, Aberdeenshire, had his sentence deferred by Sheriff William Wood to enable background reports to be prepared.
