Pensioner 'shaking' as he wins £105,000 after phone call from radio presenter

A pensioner was "shaking" after he landed a £105,000 prize.

John won the huge amount on Hits Radio's Cash Register, which gives listeners the chance of winning a life-changing amount every weekday. Presenter Hattie Pearson was in tears on yesterday's show as John said he was going to use the cash prize to buy a gravestone for his late wife, Anita, who died six years ago.

He said: "I'm shaking everywhere. Do you know I've never, never, ever won anything. Well I say I've never won anything. I've won the love of a lovely lady."

He added: "When you're a pensioner, it takes a long time to save up with the cost of stuff nowadays." Hattie broke down as John revealed he would be visiting his wife's grave on Saturday.

He said: "It's made me emotional. You don't know how much this means."

Fans flooded the comments and were moved to tears by John's story.

Saint said: "omg I’m crying"

Bron posted: "Absolutely bawling my eyes out in a car park watching this. What a deserving man you are John"

Emma added: "Me and my girls were so emotional listening to this on the way home. Never had someone been so deserving to win - love to you John"

Jill commented: "Can't stop thinking about the old man on radio earlier who won £105k and said first thing he was going to do was buy a headstone for his late wife."
