A pensioner is reported to have been sexually assaulted by a woman who climbed into his parked car.
At around 7.25pm on Friday (July 2), a woman got into the 65-year-old man's car on Chapel Lane, Formby Village, Merseyside.
The woman, believed to be around 30 years old, of large build with dark hair tied back in a ponytail and wearing a denim dress, is said to have groped the man's legs and groin area, before leaving the car, Liverpool Echo reports.
The man noticed his watch has been stolen when she left the car.
He reportedly chased the woman, who dropped the watch but fed the scene in a beige Vauxhall Astra, which was driven by a man.
Merseyside Police say CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to find the person responsible.
Detective Inspector Paul Gillies told the Echo : “I would like to reassure the community that this type of incident is, thankfully, extremely rare and we are taking this report very seriously.
“This would’ve no doubt been a distressing ordeal for the victim and we are working to ensure the person responsible is removed from our streets.
“If you were in Formby on Friday evening and witnessed anything or anyone suspicious then please come forward. Similarly, if you were driving in the area at the time you may have dashcam footage. If so, let us know as information you hold could be vital to our enquiries.”
