Pensioner's purse stolen while she was shopping in Bristol Tesco

An 89-year-old woman's purse was stolen while she was shopping in a Bristol supermarket.

The pensioner had put her handbag in her trolley at Tesco in Horfield.

But as she reached over to a shelf to pick up an item, her purse was taken from her bag. 

The incident happened on March 22 at around 3pm at the Lime Tree Road store.

Police believe the woman pictured above may have important information which could help their investigation.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "Can you help us to identify this woman in Bristol?

"We believe she may have important information that could help with our investigation into the theft of a purse belonging to an 89-year-old woman.

"If you were in the store at the time and witnessed this incident, or you can help identify the woman pictured here, please call 101 and quote reference number 5219062199."
