Pensioner's lucky escape as van crashes into house on A39 at High Littleton near Bristol

A pensioner had a lucky escape this morning when a van crashed through railings and into a cottage near Bristol.

The occupant of the house in High Littleton, on the A39 near Bristol, was reported to be not in when the collision occurred at around 10am this morning.

Local eyewitnesses told Bristol Live that the driver of the white van, which was badly damaged in the incident, ran off on foot, but a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said there were 'no issues' with the driver.

A spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision at about 11am today in High Street, High Littleton.

“A vehicle was in collision with a metal fence at a property. This was a non-injury incident,” he added.
