PAISLEY DAILY EXPRESS: Live news as it happens

Police are investigating after the 65-year-old man reported jewellery and a laptop had been stolen.

The victim left his house in Rankine Place for an appointment at around 6.30am on Friday, January 22 and returned around 2.20pm the same day to find thieves had been inside.

A number of valuables were taken during the break-in, with a final value yet to be placed on the missing items.

Inspector Allan O’Hare, from Renfrewshire’s community policing team, said: “I would urge members of the public who saw anything suspicious in Rankine Place, Johnstone, between 6.30am and 2.20pm on Friday, January 22, to get in touch with police.”

Call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
