Pensioner's horror after bonking couple break into house and have sex in living room

A pensioner was left horrified after a naked man and women burst into her home and started having sex in the front room, MSPs were told yesterday.

The sordid episode only ended when a second naked man ran in and told the brazen pair they were in the wrong flat.

Green MSP Andy Wightman told the story at Holyrood to highlight “the breakdown in social order” he believes has been caused by the explosion of short-term holiday lets.

Wightman, who has led the campaign for the regulation of Airbnb and other short-term let firms, raised the issue as he tried to amend regulations in the Planning Bill going through Holyrood.

He told MSPs the woman, 83, is the last resident in her block and keeps her front door unlocked.

Wightman said another constituent, a fifth-year pupil, had failed her English exam because rugby fans were partying in the flat above the night before.

Housing Minister Kevin Stewart said Wightman’s amendment to tighten planning rules would need £1.7million in funding for local authorities.

MSPs voted against it by 87 votes to 35.

Speaking afterwards, Wightman said: “It’s hugely disappointing that the SNP teamed up with the Tories and yielded to industry lobbyists.”
