A woman's birthday celebrations turned sour when a motoring “mishap” left her car teetering over a courtyard.
The woman had been out for lunch to celebrate her 87th.
But driving home, she ploughed her red Kia Venga through railings and left her car suspended 20ft up.
Simon Carey of Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service tweeted: “Interesting afternoon.
“The 87yr old driver who had been out for her birthday meal had a little mishap.
“Crews from Ivybridge and the heavy rescue tender from Middlemoor attended. Two props, two winches and a powered winch brought the vehicle to safety.”

The crew was called to deal with the 1.3 ton car’s accident at 2.20pm on Thursday in Bigbury-on-Sea, Devon.
A spokesman said a commercial recovery vehicle had assisted.
A local said of the driver: “It looks like she may have gone into reverse rather than forward.
“But it is astonishing that the car did not fall into the gap between the two properties, or that someone was underneath the vehicle at the time.
“The driver won’t forget her birthday meal out!”
