Pensioner rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' following Bannockburn M80 crash

A 73-year-old woman has been taken to hospital following a crash near Bannockburn on Sunday night.

The incident took place on a stretch of the M80 at the Bannockburn Interchange, near Stirling Services, at around 6:50pm.

Emergency services were soon called out to the one-vehicle crash, with the pensioner being rushed to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment, with her condition currently described as "stable".

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.50pm on Sunday, 11 July, we received a report of a one vehicle crash on the Bannockburn interchange near the M80.

“Emergency services attended and a 73-year-old woman was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital with serious injuries where she remains in a stable condition.

“The road was closed for a few hours and fully reopened around 11.30pm.”
