A woman in her 80s has been rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries after she was struck by a bus.
The horrific collision took place yesterday in Crumlin, causing the road to remain closed off this morning while gardai examined the scene.
Witnesses saw emergency services and gardai everywhere from Sundrive Road to Stanaway Road.
The junction between the two roads remained closed for several hours yesterday evening.
A source told Dublin Live that the woman was spotted under the bus after she was hit.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardai are appealing to the public for information in relation to a serious road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a bus that occurred at the entrance to Eamon Ceannt Park, Sundrive Road, Crumlin.
"A female pedestrian, aged in her 80s, was taken to St. James Hospital with serious life threatening injuries. A technical examination of the scene has been carried out.
"Gardai are appealing for anyone who was in the area between 4:30pm - 5:10pm on 24/02/2020 who witnessed the incident, particularly any road users who may have dash cam footage, to contact gardai in Crumlin on 01 666 6200, Sundrive Road on 01 666 6600 or the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111."
