A pensioner has been left seriously injured after a crash in Shetland that shut down a busy road.
Cops raced to the smash on Bell's Road at the junction with South Road, in Lerwick, Shetland, at around 11am on Thursday.
Two cars were involved in the collision, which saw the road shut down by emergency services.
An 85-year-old, the driver of one car, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The road has since reopened fully.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a collision involving two cars on Bell's Road at the junction with South Road, Lerwick, Shetland.
"The incident happened around 11.10am on Thursday, 30 September.
"The 85-year-old driver of one car was treated at the scene by ambulance staff for what is believed to be serious but non-life threatening injuries."
