Pensioner left knickers for manager of his retirement complex during stalking campaign

A pensioner has admitted stalking the manager of his retirement housing complex.

Robert Entwistle, 70, plagued Tracy Brotherston, 53, with letters and online messages over a three-year period.

Matters came to a head when he left a bag containing knickers, a key ring and a Valentine’s Day card hanging on the wing mirror of her car.

Entwistle also sent Facebook messages on a community site they were both members of, despite knowing she had blocked him and wanted no contact.

Tracy was the manager of an Eildon Housing Association development in Berwickshire at the time.

The mother of two’s victim impact statement said: “This has affected me a lot at home and at work.

“My family have seen how I am more nervous over a period of time.”

Prosecutor Graham Fraser said: “He had been warned by a police officer not to have contact with her but he left the bag on her car and sent the Facebook messages.”

Entwistle pled guilty to engaging in a course of conduct likely to cause the woman fear and alarm at Greenlaw and Duns, both Berwickshire, between January 2016 and January this year.

He has since moved to a retirement complex in Melrose, Roxburghshire.

Jedburgh Sheriff Court heard Entwistle was a first offender and no longer had any contact with his victim.

Sentence was deferred on Entwistle, originally from Scarborough, Yorkshire, until June 10.
