Pensioner given lucky escape after car flips on its roof in crash

A car flipped onto its roof in a crash on a Carluke street, with a pensioner fortunately given a lucky escape.

The driver avoided any injuries in the incident which happened at around 8.40am on Tuesday (May 18).

Witnesses say the crash occurred on Carnwath Road when the car struck another parked car on the road, Lanarkshire Live reports.

The force of the collision caused the car to flip over onto the road and land on its roof. The driver was helped out of his car and taken safely into an ambulance.

Emergency services rushed to the scene with the driver taken to hospital to be checked for injuries.
