Pensioner found dead on Glasgow street as emergency services attend scene

A pensioner has died suddenly outside an address on a Glasgow street.

We told how emergency services raced to the scene in the Stirrat Street area of Maryhill at around 3.25pm on Friday, December 3.

Local residents reported seeing a large number of emergency service vehicles in the area where officers remain in attendance.

Officers confirmed on Friday evening that a probe had been launched but said that it is currently at an “early stage”.

On Saturday evening police confirmed the person who passed away was an 83-year-old woman.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to the sudden death of an 83-year-old woman outside an address in Stirrat Street, Glasgow around 3.25pm on Friday, 3 December.

"Following a post mortem examination, the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
