Pensioner found dead after she missed Covid vaccine 'may have died 12 years ago'

A pensioner who was found dead after failing to turn up for her Covid vaccine may have died up to 12 years ago, according to reports.

The woman, named locally as Christina Malley, was discovered at her home in Cove, Aberdeen in Scotland, on February 25.

An alarm was raised as nurses attended the property looking for the pensioner who had failed to turn up for her Covid-19 vaccination, the Daily Record reports.

The remains of Mrs Malley, who would have been in her 80s, were later discovered within the property sparking a police investigation.

Officers are still trying to determine exactly when and how she died but fears have been raised that it may have been more than a decade ago, the Evening Express reports.

A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed that inquiries into the circumstances remain ‘ongoing’.

The ground floor property has been boarded up while specialist forensic officers examined the home for clues.

A police spokesman said: “Officers were called to an address in Allison Close, Aberdeen, on Thursday, 25 February 2021, after the body of a woman was found within.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
