A pensioner is fighting for her life in hospital after a Scots road was shut down for over 12 hours following a crash.
Cops raced to the A87 near Kyle of Lochalsh at around 1pm on Sunday, August 22, amid reports of a serious smash.
It's understood a Honda Jazz collided with a Skoda Rapid on the road towards Balmacara.
A 73-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Skoda, was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with life-threatening injuries.
The 58-year-old male driver of the Honda was also taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries and the 55-year-old female passenger in the car was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
The road was shut down by cops for around 15 hours as a full collision investigation to take place.
Police are now appealing for information and ask anyone who was in the area or may have dashcam footage to come forward.
Sergeant Ewan Calder, of Fort William Road Policing Unit, said: “This has been a serious crash and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“I would ask anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have seen either car prior to the crash or anyone with dashcam footage that may assist with our investigation to get in touch with officers.
“Anyone with information can contact police via 101, quoting incident number 1969 of 22 August.”
