Pensioner fighting for life and another seriously injured after horror crash on A82

A pensioner is fighting for her life following a two vehicle horror crash on a busy Scots road.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the collision on the A82 at the junction for Luss around 3.20pm on Saturday August 28.

The 77-year-old woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with life threatening injuries.

A 76-year-old man was also left with serious injuries from the crash and taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment.

A second man, aged 51, was also taken to the same hospital but the extent of his injuries remain unknown.

The road was closed off in both directions for five hours and serious tailbacks were reported as a result, according to Traffic Scotland.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received report of a two-vehicle crash on the A82 at the junction for Luss around 3.20pm on Saturday, 28 August, 2021.

“A 51-year-old man and a 76-year-old man have been taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, with the 76-year-old’s injuries described as serious.

“A 77-year-old woman has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with what are described as life threatening injuries.

“The road remained closed for around five hours while officers carried out enquiries.”
