Pensioner fighting for her life after being hit by bike

A woman in her 80s is fighting for life in hospital after she was hit by a bike.

Emergency services were called to Enfield Park Road, in Warrington, at 4.30pm on Monday following reports of the collision between a cyclist and a pedestrian.

The pensioner was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she remains in a critical condition.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Constabulary told Cheshire Live : "Officers were called just before 4.30pm on Monday March 22 to Enfield Park Road following reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a pedestrian.

"The pedestrian, a woman in her 80s, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. She remains in a critical condition.

"The cyclist stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries."

Police are now appealing for anyone who have may have captured CCTV, dashcam footage or witnessed the incident to come forward.
