A pensioner has died after a serious crash involving two cars near Grangemouth last night.
Emergency services rushed to the A9 outside the Beancross Farm at around 7:10pm on Tuesday September, 28, following reports of a smash between a black Audi A5 and an orange Toyota Aygo.
The 77-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts from mercy crews to save her.
At least nine police vehicles, three fire engines and two ambulances along with specialist paramedics were dispatched to the scene.
The road was closed for a number of hours while an investigation took place.
Inspector Keith Warhurst, of road policing, said: "We're appealing to anyone who might have witnessed the black Audi A5 or orange Toyota Aygo shortly before the crash, as well as those who might have dash cam footage."
