Pensioner dies in horror motorbike crash on Scots road

A pensioner has died in a horror crash on a Scots road last night.

Police have confirmed a 69-year-old man died at the scene on the A96 near Keith after the collision involving a motorbike around 7.45pm.

We told of the road being closed due to a 'serious' crash with emergency services racing to the Moray town and drivers urged to avoid the area.

It has now emerged there was a tragic fatality on the road with the man's next of kin now informed.

Police have have urged any witnesses to come forward.

A statement from north-east division reads: "Police are investigating a collision involving a motorcycle on the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness Road at Keith, which occurred about 1945 hours today.

"A 69 year old male died at the scene and next of kin have been informed.

"Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have dash cam footage, to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 3301."
