Pensioner dies in horror car crash on busy M8 motorway

Police are appealing for information after a pensioner died when he crashed his luxury car on Scotland's busiest motorway.

The 71-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene yesterday afternoon, after his black Jaguar XF collided with a number of cars on the M8.

The fatal smash took place on the eastbound carriageway, near Junction 13, Riddie, at around 2.30pm, and saw the pensioner's car coming to a stop on the hard shoulder.

Nobody else was injured in the multi-car collision and the deceased's family has been informed.

Officers probing the road death want to speak to any potential witnesses, or anyone who has a dashcam which may have captured some of the incident.

Anyone who can assist with the investigation should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2104 of Friday, November 13, 2020.
