Pensioner dies after being struck by van in Kingston Bridge crash

A pensioner who was struck by a van on the Kingston Bridge has died from his injuries.

The incident happened at around 10am on Thursday, December 3 when a blue Toyota Corolla and a white Mercedes Sprinter van collided on the M8 eastbound, accessed from the Cook Street ramp.

The 74-year-old was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. However, Police Scotland have confirmed that he has since sadly died from his injuries.

Officers have confirmed that an investigation into the incident has been launched with inquiries ongoing. Anyone with information that could help or who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police.

A statement from the force reads: "A 74-year-old man, who was struck by a van on the Kingston Bridge, Glasgow, on Thursday 3 December, has died from his injuries.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 0841 of 3 December."
