Pensioner conned out of cash in Tesco car park scam

A vulnerable man in his 80s was conned out of cash by a man in a Tesco car park.

An unknown man approached the vulnerable pensioner outside the Eastville supermarket on Sunday (August 2).

The victim was told he had received a parking ticket at Tesco and the man then directed him to a cash machine in Muller Road where he said he could resolve the issue for him.

The man then returned to Tesco with the victim’s bank card and withdrew a quantity of cash from a ATM at about 11.40am.

Police officers investigating the incident have now released a CCTV image of a man who they wish to identify.
