A vulnerable pensioner was forced into handing over thousands of pounds to a rogue workman who carried out work on her property without her consent.
The 70-year-old had originally agreed to a three-figure sum of work to be done at her home in Peockland Gardens after the tradesman cold called at the Johnstone property on March 28.
However, over the course of two days, the rogue worker completed the original task that had been agreed and also carried out a number of other tasks which had not been agreed on.

He then went on and demanded a significantly higher sum from the woman. As a result, the elderly woman paid him a mid-four-figure sum.
Police in Paisley are treating the incident as fraud and are urging anyone in the community who may have been targeted in similar circumstances to come forward.
Detective Constable Gordon Hunt said: “This was a particularly distressing incident for the victim, who was forced to pay over five times the agreed amount for work she did not require.
“If you have information which could assist our investigation, or you yourself believe you’ve been a victim of this same workman, please call police on 101, quoting incident 1139 of 4 April.”
