A librarian revealed the heartbreaking story of an elderly woman who asked him to look up obituaries after not hearing from friends - and found out they'd all died.
Known on Twitter as Eddie The Giant Librarian, he said the pensioner called in to ask for help tracking down her high school friends she hadn't had contact with for a while.
Eddie said he sadly found obituaries for all her friends.
He described an emotional scene in which the old woman cried, he cried before she asked him to read some of the tributes to her.
Sharing the story in a couple of tweets, which have now gone viral, Eddie said: "I had an elderly patron call who didn't have internet and ask me to look up some obituaries because she hadn't heard from her gang of high school friends for a while.
"I found them all. She cried. I cried. I hope I handled it gently enough for her.

"I talked to her for a bit and told her to come into the library and I'd print the tributes out for her or I can mail them to her.
"She had me read a few to her. It's a really s*** time to feel so lonely."
The tweets went viral with many commenting on the kind way he handled the tragic situation.
One wrote: "That is heartbreaking and beautiful. You're awesome for being what she needed.
"Loss is so painful and you experience so much of it by the time you're an elder."
Another said: "I'm really thinking about the lady you helped. If I had her address, I would send her a card. I bet a lot of people commenting would.
"Maybe I could send it to your library & you could give it to her if she comes in. Thank you for being there with her."
"Librarians I find in general are such super heroes in their communities," another said.
