Pensioner arrested as man, 50s, rushed to hospital after stabbing in Cork city

Gardai are investigating after a man in his 50s was stabbed this afternoon.

The incident took place on Dublin Street, Blackpool at around 4pm.

The injured man was then taken to Cork University Hospital with what are believed to be serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A man, in his 70s, has been arrested in relation to the incident and investigations are ongoing, CorkBeo reports.

The road was blocked for a short time on Monday afternoon as emergency services dealt with the incident however it has now fully reopened.
