A pensioner was allegedly assaulted following a verbal altercation while out walking at a South Ayrshire golf course art the beginning of this month.
Police are looking into claims that the 69-year-old was attacked near Lochgreen golf course in Troon.
The alleged incident is said to have taken place on Monday, March 1.
Officers are attempting to establish exactly what happened and enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing at this time.
